Every Wednesday, my boyfriend and I go to church. We spend
time praising God together, worshiping Him and acknowledging that He is our
sole God – not money, not other people but Him.
Last Wednesday, our Pastor talked about ‘talents’. If you
know, Jesus Christ is talking about the parable of talents in Matthew wherein a
man gave five (5) talents, two (2) talents and one (1) talent to his three
different servants respectively. To cut the story short, the servant with five
talents doubled his talents same as with the two. However, the man with one talent
dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. After a long time, the
master returned and was happy when the servants with five and two talents reported
that they have doubled their talents. And when the last servant reported that
he hid his talent, the master was angry, got his talent and gave it to the one
who has ten talents.

Maybe you were asking why did he give the last talent the
servant has to the one who has more? Because, the master knew that the one who
doubles his talent will again double his money. He knew that that person or
servant is not lazy to reproduce his money.
The Lord God blessed us all with talents, some has five,
some has two and some has one. But, God never gave us zero in the very first
place. What we should do is to nurture that talent.
Do you have a prayer that is still in vain? Do you pray to
have more of this and that, to have a nice car, to have a better-paying job?
God knows what is best for us and right now, the things that we have are the
things that we can handle to ourselves. If God will give you everything you
want, He knows that you cannot handle it. Show Him that you are not lazy and is
willing and is doing your job nurturing the talents he has given you and He
will surely give you more.
Now I understand why God still doesn't answer my prayers. He
is waiting for me to not be lazy and be a productive woman of God.
