Redeeming Love

"For a brief moment I deserted you, but with great compassion I will gather you. In overflowing anger for a moment I hid my face from you, but with everlasting love I will have compassion on you," says the Lord, Your Redeemer.  

Isaiah 5 4:7-8 ESV

From the Daily encouragement book I am reading, the publishers say that there are contrasting opposites that are at work in this passage: a brief desertion but a great gathering; a momentary anger but everlasting love and compassion. Ever felt that God has deserted you? But notice that He never leaves; he just hid His face but eventually, He makes way to be back again in our hearts.
